What Is Oral Conscious Sedation?

Oral conscious sedation is a medication taken by mouth before your appointment that helps you feel relaxed during dental treatment. You stay awake and able to respond throughout the procedure — you are not put to sleep.

We do not offer sedation for children. Oral conscious sedation is available for adults only.

Who Is Sedation For?

Sedation may be a good option for adults who:

• Feel anxious or nervous about dental visits
• Have a strong gag reflex that makes treatment difficult
• Are having a longer or more involved procedure

Coverage for sedation varies by plan. We check your benefits and give you the full cost before treatment begins.

We are in-network with these PPO dental plans: Aetna, Cigna, Delta Dental, MetLife, United Healthcare, and BCBS Florida Combined Life. We are also in-network with these Medicare Advantage plans: Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, and Humana.

We accept most PPO dental plans. If your plan isn't listed, call (727) 584-9200 and we'll check your benefits. We file claims for patients.

Patients without insurance may qualify for our in-office Smile and Health discount plan. CareCredit and Sunbit financing are available.
